Why The Debate On Tithing?

Filed Under (Tithing Debate) by admin

When you do a search on Google or any other search engine on Tithing you might have noticed something. Many of the websites are debating the idea that in these modern times and according to the lack of scripture in the New Testament that we are not required to tithe 10%. They take New Testament scripture or the lack of it spelling it out to make their defense of why not to give their tithe. Therefore Jesus is telling us in this scripture that we are to go by the Old Testament laws.

But Tithing does not have to be debated because it all comes down to this. Tithing is praising God. Tithing is not a tax but a way to praise God who everything belongs to. We are just stewards of everything we have. Any Christian who loves God with all his heart should desire to give everything he can and rejoice in doing so. This is the gateway for the believer into the covenant of blessings.
